Julie L Lustig PhD

I am a Licensed Psychologist, adjunct faculty member at Stanford University, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and founder and director of the CBT Tools for Life Center. I have over 25 years experience, and have trained and worked at acclaimed universities and medical schools. Please visit my center at www.cbttoolsforlife.com to learn more about my services and request an initial appointment.

I have an extensive background in clinical work, research, publishing, grant writing, teaching and consulting to other professionals in my field, all with a focus on child and adolescent mental health and healthy parenting. Bringing together my background as a researcher and teacher with my years of clinical experience, and experience as a mother, I provide warm, high quality, evidence-based, treatment to my clients (children, teens, young adults and parents) with particular expertise in treating OCD, anxiety disorders, phobias, BFRBs, and coping with chronic illness.

I have been in private practice in Menlo Park for over 24 years, built strong and trusting relationships with the professionals in this community, on the peninsula, and across the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2025, I founded the CBT Tools for Life Center with a unique, exclusive focus on children, teens, young adults and parents, to broaden and expand services for youth, train professionals, and to disseminate resources to the community. Please visit the center to learn more about our services and to request an initial appointment - www.cbttoolsforlife.com.

In 2021, I partnered with Dr. Jocelyn Sze on an initiative to provide brief, free CBT tools to youth and adults with needle phobia and anxiety, who wanted to get a COVID-19 vaccine and were unable due to phobia/fear of needles. We are committed to reducing barriers to vaccinations for those who want to get vaccinated. We also are passionate about disseminating life-changing CBT tools that can increase access to vaccines and other important aspects of health care.
